Big Day at Home, Week in Workouts

My daughter graduates from high school today mid-afternoon. The day is jam-packed with activities, ending in a big extended family and friends’ celebratory dinner. It is hard to believe that she is done with high school–that’s two out of the three kids now. Wow. And then in a couple of weeks, she turns 18. Oh my.

How is it that they get older but I stay the same?  lol

Slight Training Reprieve

Coach gave me an off day today, which I appreciate, but I still feel a little cheated; Mondays, I really rest and get caught up on miscellaneous things but today, I will be running around like a chicken with my head cut off. It just can’t be helped.

Ah, well–I will sneak tiny rests every moment I can.

Tomorrow, I have a 6-hour bike ride so I’m going to try out one of the ACA rides. My plan is to ride early and do a shorter loop and then join the group at 8AM for their 67-mile Pflugerville ride. I hope it all goes well. The hubby will be riding with me for some, so I am guaranteed some company. My clothes are already laid out, run bag packed, and I’ll get my bike stuff together at different points throughout the day so that I get maximum sleep tonight.

Monday will be my long run (2.5 hours) and swim (45 minutes). You know, with all this graduation and training stuff to d,o I am not as sad as I normally would’ve been over missing the Loop tomorrow, my favorite of the Rogue Trail Series races and my trail 30K PR.

All my friends are off doing the Pale Ale ride today…I hope they have a good day and drink a beer for me.
