I have a couple of 3-mile runs with no walking under my belt. On Thursday, I did the 4-mile loop at the trail with my friend; I had to ask her to walk several times.
Today I did the skimpy 3-mile loop in my ‘hood. I’d wanted to go longer and so was going to run for time; as a result, I started my watch when I set out, something I’d been strenuously avoiding. I struggled to make the skimpy three, and I struggled to do it in 34 minutes.
My legs are dead.
I can’t believe that this is still recovering from mono and the cold. I feel perfectly normal energy-wise in my day-to-day life. I am convinced that this may be tied in with changing my thyroid dosage. My entire body feels puffy and bloated, I’m having female problems, and I just feel “wrong.” Like my system is polluted.
My weight is soaring despite a very concerted effort to make healthy choices and eat less. Those of us who run and workout regularly are pretty in tune with our bodies, and I know myself; when my body doesn’t feel right, something isn’t right. It is so very frustrating to want to be back to normal and yet to be where I haven’t been since I started running over 10 years ago.
I go back to the doc on the 22nd for full exam and blood work.
Sigh.
((hugs))
I have had Mono and it takes a long time to recover. Sorry to hear that you are going through all of this. Hopefully blood work will give you some answers. Keep your chin up.
Time for a Change?
Hey Lady! Maybe it is time for a change. You need to be inspired … It will come, but think on it for a while … maybe there is something new waiting there for you – a new sport (you have done a lot of them so coming up with somthing new might be a challenge), a new gym (Pure Austin is totally awesome and changed my life) – just until you get that zip back in your step.
Here is to new things and happier tomorrows!
