For a while, I’d been working on some running-related writing. Then it just kind of petered out; to be honest, I found what I was doing to be very dull and not satisfying to me. It was non-fiction “how to” kind of stuff. It wasn’t a good fit; it wasn’t scratching the itch inside of me that’s been festering.
So I started mulling over writing from the standpoint of “what is it that I like to write about?” I’m not a fiction writer because I don’t sit down and create short stories or outline novels or write poetry (anymore). I do, however, spend a lot of time with personal writing. And it came to me that I should write what I love and then mold it into something.
Duh.
I’m going to a conference in August that will have some work shops on writing and publishing. Not only should it be fun (I’ll be attending with friends) but educational and, hopefully, inspirational. I’m going to try to have some pieces to bring with me.
yay! It\’s so nice to meet a fellow writer/runner.
