Journey with Me

Growing up, books were my best friends. I fell in love with writing and, ever since, I’ve lived my life wrangling words. Enjoying the Journey: Observations on the Fit Life is my place to explore all aspects of living an adventurously joyous life.

Writing, Work, and Passion

I’ve been an educator, freelance writer, editor, and content strategist, but fitness is a long-lasting passion. Working out started as a management tool for family, stress, and weight and became a love affair with long-distance running. When my Ironman coach suggested an online training diary to connect with other athletes, I started blogging. That fitness focus led to landing my dream job: editor in chief of a local fitness magazine. That marriage of workouts, words, and creative team management (don’t forget marketing, website development, and social media–all part and parcel of publishing today) were great years.

All good things come to end, though, and when I left the 9-to-5 grind for freelancing, Enjoying the Journey was waiting.

You can find me in Austin, Texas, writing about adventures, working out with friends, enjoying good food, and still reading anything I can get my hands on.

Travel has become a passion. Whether it’s Nebraska (shown here) or a single-track Texas trail, I’m exploring.

Do We Need to Connect?

Reach out to me with that writing, editing, strategizing, and social media need or question. I’d like to hear from you.

I enjoy speaking about my journey, adventures, and skills, too.

  1. I\’m loving reading this journal! You are inspiring and fun and I am so glad I got to know you in person as well as through your writings.

  2. Just started my own blog and stumbled along yours while looking for people with similar interest (and also slightly torturing myself since I\’m injured and sidelined for a while, lol). Your blog (and/or journal) seems pretty kick ass! Am excited to read up on some past posts and see your new ones.
