Transitions in Life

For the last 3.5 years, my writing has been focused on my job at Austin Fit Magazine. I moved up through the ranks; two years ago, I became editor in chief. It was a position I completely dove into, truly relishing the opportunities, connections, and exposure that came with putting out a monthly fitness magazine.

It also ate me up.

So I made the difficult (but necessary) decision to leave. Over my last three weeks at the office, I finished up the December issue, teed up the January content, instructed as much as possible, and said my goodbyes.

It’s still sinking in. Throughout the holidays, I’m doing nothing but recharging my batteries and resting. “Repotting” is how a friend referred to this interlude.

I’m lucky to have the resources and opportunity to explore my best fit in professions while doing absolutely nothing job-related. I’m excited to see what the next step in my journey is going to be.

Being a writer, though, I can’t really process without putting fingers to keyboard. So I’m picking back up this blog and ruminating on everything and anything related to this journey.

[You’ve been warned.]
